Vol.04 Issue No.01 (2008): Journal of Indian Society of Toxicology

Published Date: 07-Jan-2008

The March of JIST

This issue is being published after some major upheavals in the composition of the advisory, executive, and editorial committees of the Indian Society of Toxicology. A fresh team has been constituted for the period 2008-2010. I am sure all the newly inducted members of the various committees will be doing their best in the next couple of years to sustain the remarkable progress that the Indian Society of Toxicology and its journal (JIST) have been making ever since their inception in 2004. The Society has certainly made steady progress in achieving many of the envisaged goals when it was first conceived four years ago. The membership has also grown steadily to nearly 200, and applications continue to stream in regularly.

With regard to the journal itself, we now have in place a distinguished team of international and national professionals on the editorial board, who I am confident, will strive to make our journal among the best in the world. As would be evident on scanning the list of articles in this particular issue, as also previous issues, it is clear that we have made a tremendous impact among toxicologists from around the world, with contributions regularly coming in from several countries.

The online version of the journal (accessible at www.indianjournals.com) has also picked up, and now has several dedicated subscribers. There are plans afoot to make it even more widely accessible by creating awareness and interest among more and more toxicologists working in India and abroad.
